Role Summary/Purpose

Build your career and experience the advantages that come with working on state-of-the-art MR Imaging equipment in a research environment. The MR Research Service Engineer will be responsible for meeting the daily service repair needs of the MR Diagnostic Imaging equipment and supporting research projects in progress at the facility.

 Essential Responsibilities

• Process and review customer orders from initial receipt through final packaging accurately and consistently.
• Set up, prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals.
• Perform and/or supervise leukocyte labeling procedures.
• Handle, package and deliver radiopharmaceuticals and hazardous materials in compliance with Company Policies, Corporate Standards and Health and Safety rules related to area of responsibility.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate level of drug inventory and other business necessary supplies.
• Perform required tests on equipment (e.g. dose calibrator constancy and survey meter checks) and manually record results.
• Perform quality control tests on prepared products and manually record results.
•Provide training and supervison to employees to assure all lab activities are performed in compliance with regulations and initiatives, Company Policies and Health and Safety rules.
• Exemplify compliance with all regulations, Company Policies, Corporate Standards and Health and Safety rules related to area of responsibility.
• Process returned medical waste an
d maintain returned reusable supplies in compliance with all regulations and Company Policies.

• Maintain cleanliness of lab in accordance with the facility housekeeping schedules, which may include but are not limited to: mopping, sweeping, cleaning and tidy work spaces, and removal of waste from facility
• Manage bio-hazardous waste and prepare paperwork for its ultimate disposal
• Complete radiation wipes and surveys on shipping containers, pharmacy supplies, incoming packages, work spaces and vehicles
• Actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment by completing required training, providing suggestions for improving the health and safety program and bringing unsafe acts and/or conditions to the attention of management.
• Support Pharmacy Operations by performing data entry into computer system and completeing delivery paperwork for customers

 Qualifications/Requirement

- Licensed or eligible to become licensed, and subsequent obtaining of license in 12 months, to practice pharmacy
- Eligibility for pharmacy licensure in the resident state and for authorized user status
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to accommodate shift changes based on business needs
- Valid drivers license to operate in necessary delivery
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Eligibility requirements:
- Must be willing to submit information for a background check as well as partake in a drug screen.

  Qualifications
 
Eligible to be licensed as a Nuclear Pharmacist in the State of Colorado. Able to become an Authorized User in the State of Colorado. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
An "Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist" is an individual who through appropriate training and experience is qualified and authorized to work independently with radiation sources and to supervise such use by others.
For non-nuclear pharmacists, we provide an extensive training program that includes both the didactic and supervised practice hours you need to become certified as an Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist. 
 
  Work Schedule 
230 AM  - 330 PM with a 2 week on 2 week off rotating schedule with our other Nuclear Pharmacist on staff.

  Job Summary 

  PET Radiopharmacist operates cyclotron and radiochemistry equipment to manufacture routine and research PET radiopharmaceuticals while complying with radiation safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, quality control and regulations.   

 Responsibilities 

 1. Operates cyclotron and associated equipment in compliance with protocols and good ALARA radiation safety practices.

 2. Operates automated radiochemistry synthesis equipment in compliance with protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA regulations.

 3. Procures, compounds, performs quality assurance regarding, dispenses, and distributes Radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

 4. Maintains all records as mandated by state and federal regulations for a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

 5. Assists in the development of PET radiopharmaceuticals for research.

 6. Maintains and calibrates a variety of chemistry and scientific instrumentation.

 7. Troubleshoots cyclontron laboratory equipment using mechanical, electronic and basic science skills. Develops new processes and writes protocols for       equipment refinement.

 8. Assures that packaging and shipping of radioactive material are in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

 9. Prepares and maintains records of research radiopharmaceuticals being evaluated at the University Medical Center.

 10. Maintains the radiochemistry and cyclotron laboratory in compliance with GMP and appropriate environmental operations.

 11. Assists director in developing, improving and maintaining protocols, applications and licenses as required for routine PET radiopharmaceutical production.

 12. Supervises laboratory personnel in the performance of their duties.

 13. Supervises and instructs Pharmacy Students and Nuclear Medicine Technology Students through the Nuclear Pharmacy Clerkship program.

 14. Prepares lectures and training modules for and teaches the Nuclear Pharmacy class. 

  Qualifications 

 Eligible to be licensed as a Nuclear Pharmacist in the State of Utah. Able to become an ]Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist" by the University of Utah Radiation Safety Committee. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

 An "Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist" is an individual who through appropriate training and experience is qualified and authorized to work independently with radiation sources and to supervise such use by others.

 Minimum of one year experience as a licensed Nuclear Pharmacist preferred. Board Certified Nuclear Pharmacist (BCNP) is also preferred. 

  Work Schedule 

 4 AM - 1 PM, and other arranged times.
